Professor P.K. Ghosh was educated in Calcutta University securing the top position in first class of the B.Com. and M.A. examinations of the Calcutta University for which he was awarded the Jubilee Post-graduate Scholarship and University Gold Medal. Professor Ghosh got the doctoral degree from the University of Delhi for his research thesis on 'Economic Controls in a Planned Economy'. He was Exchange Fellow at the Graduate School of Business, Stanford University, California, USA, in 1966-67, where he presented his research study on Indian capital market. In the 70's in India, he also conducted  a post-doctoral research with UGC grant. Professor Ghosh has been teaching post-graduate courses at the Delhi School of Economics and the Faculty of Management Studies, Delhi University, since 1960 until 1977 when he joined as Vice-Chancellor of North Bengal University for four years after which he rejoined Delhi University and retired in 1988. He was advisor of the School of Management Studies, IGNOU, from 1988 until 1992. From 1990 onwards he was associated as Guest Faculty in a number of post-graduate Institutes of Management in Delhi. His published work includes around 40 articles in learned journals and edited volumes, besides a dozen books by him like Government and Industry; Studies in Regulatory Policy and Practices; Fundamentals of Management Accounting; Public Enterprises in India: Organisation and Management; Business Policy; Business Environment; Strategic Management: Text and Cases.
