The Text defines technology and then explains how companies use the technology to improve performance. Real world cases finalize the explanation. This edition, like its predecessors, aims to help students learn how to use and manage information technologies to revitalize business processes, improve business decision making, and gain competitive advantage. This book has a clear emphasis to the idea of the "Information Systems Professional" and does a very good job of placing IS in a wider context.

The book " Management Information Systems" by LM Prasad and Usha Prasad is very well structured in terms of contents and well suited for academic reference, The language is very simple and explanations are very clear with suitable examples in the management area unlike other books on MIS which are more technical in presentation. All the concepts are comprehensively included and suits well for the syllabus of MBA students . The recent developments in MIS are also included in a structured way.
